Dutch Poutine: A Recipe That Was In My Dream Last Night
Last night, in the middle of a dream about something else entirely, I ate a meal called "dutch poutine." Here is the recipe-- which I have not prepared, because, well, I literally just dreamed it up last night.
In my dream it was good though.
Ingredients:
- frozen french fries
- 1 packet powdered hollandaise sauce -- I guess you could make it from scratch, but in the dream it was one of those McCormick dehydrated sauce pouches.
- 1/4 cup butter (for the hollandaise)
- 1 cup cold water (for the hollandaise)
- smoked paprika
- 1 egg
Procedure:
- Fry or air-fry french fries per the instructions on the bag.
- Prepare the hollandaise sauce per the instructions on the sauce packet.
- In a small frying pan, prepare the egg sunny side up (fry one side, then remove from pan without flipping).
- Place fries on plate.
- Place egg on fries (yolk side up).
- Drizzle hollandaise sauce over the fries and egg.
- Dust with smoked paprika.
- Eat. Drip fries in egg yolk.
